Samsung Electronics America provided display and mobile technology to a Health Security Operations Center for the 2026 World Soccer Games, supporting collaboration among 30 participating organizations.

Samsung Electronics America supplied display and mobile technology to a Health Security Operations Center that was stood up for the 2026 World Soccer Games, according to a press release. The center used the equipment to share critical data and support collaboration among 30 participating organizations.

The HSOC is part of the National Center for Health Security and Resilience, a collaboration between Georgetown University and MedStar Health, according to a press release. For more than six weeks spanning the period before, during and after the tournament, the center produced daily situation reports, ran twice-daily briefings and alerted local health departments early whenever disease signals were identified. The disease signals it monitored included major public health concerns such as norovirus, measles and COVID-19.

"Public health operations centers can prove critical during international events and gatherings of all sizes, especially mass gatherings that draw millions of people from around the world," said Todd Maxwell, director of regulated business development at Samsung Electronics America, in the release. "In these instances, health leaders need coordinated, multidisciplinary situational awareness to aggregate and analyze disparate public health data, and enact immediate communications and response if a risk emerges."

The company worked with the HSOC coalition to build a functioning operations environment in the weeks ahead of the tournament's opening match. Equipment provided to the center included laptops, tablets and large-format displays, intended to help public health experts securely collect, analyze, visualize and communicate health intelligence during the games.
