Concert Violinist Annabelle Traves Ice Cream Taster

Snoop Dogg's ice cream brand Dr. Bombay and hiring platform Deel have picked Dubai-based Australian Annabelle Traves as the winner of their International Ice Cream Taster, according to DailyDOOH. The role is fully remote, runs for three months, and pays $10,000 a month. Traves's job is to help the brand move into new markets, come up with new flavour ideas, and develop an ice cream inspired by Deel.

The search drew a field of applicants: more than 350,000 people put their names forward after applications opened on August 28. Deel took care of hiring, compliance, and payments across more than 130 countries, which left the Dr. Bombay team free to concentrate on choosing the right candidate.

Alex Bouaziz, Co-Founder and CEO of Deel, said the applicant pool showed how far the chance reached. "We said anyone, anywhere could apply, and fans of Dr. Bombay really rose to the occasion. It turns out Snoop's perfect ice cream taster is a violinist from Brisbane," he said. On how quickly the paperwork came together, Bouaziz stated: "Attracting, sifting through applications, hiring and onboarding talent for a challenge like this used to take months. Instead, we had Annabelle signed and ready to go just two days after she accepted the job." "Any business can hire in record time the best person for the job, wherever they live, just like Dr. Bombay has," he added.

Traves, meanwhile, brings a résumé straight from the concert stage. DailyDOOH reports she has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House and Het Concertgebouw, and served as first violinist of André Rieu's Johann Strauss Orchestra on its 2022 to 2025 world tour. She most recently appeared as a guest performer at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix.

Her base of operations is as international as her playing: she lives between Australia, Germany, the Netherlands and now the United Arab Emirates.
