Fast Content: Titan OS Partners with Plaion Pictures on Smart TVs Across Europe
Titan OS and Plaion Pictures announced a distribution partnership that makes Plaion's FAST channels available on Titan OS-powered Smart TVs in 42 European territories, according to invidis.com.
Titan Operating System SL (Titan OS) has announced a distribution partnership with Plaion Pictures, according to invidis.com. Titan OS said the agreement will make Plaion Pictures' FAST channels available to Smart TV owners across 42 European territories, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.
Titan OS, which said it is based in Barcelona and develops Connected TV software, added that its independent operating system powers Smart TVs from manufacturers including JVC, Sharp and Philips. Plaion Pictures, which Titan OS said is headquartered in Höfen, Austria, is one of Europe's leading independent film and home entertainment distributors.
The collaboration means channels such as Moviedome and Metal-Rocks will now be accessible on all Titan OS-powered screens. Plaion content will also be available on Sony Android devices that feature Titan channels.
Rick Fens, SVP of Business Development at Titan OS, said the partnership formed part of the company's efforts to improve content delivery and provide a 'balanced mix of local and international entertainment.' Hauk Markus, Director of Fast/AVOD Business at Plaion Pictures, called it a natural strategic step in expanding the content distributor's streaming footprint.
