This week, Chief, a brand under Legrand | AV, responded to that shift with the launch of its TiLED Universal Trim Kits, a modular finishing system designed to enclose exposed cabinet edges and tuck away cabling around direct view LED displays. The new offering plugs a long-standing gap integrators face at project close-out: custom millwork typically adds both cost and lead time, field-cut trim introduces jobsite risk, and display-maker-specific edge covers limit compatibility. Chief's solution removes all three pain points with a stocked, off-the-shelf system that requires no cutting or fabrication and installs as the final step once the panels are in place, so the structural timeline and the finishing scope stay independent of one another.
As dvLED moves from control rooms into more design-conscious environments such as corporate lobbies, higher education campuses, retail floors, hospitality venues and government facilities, the perimeter finish has become just as important as the picture itself. The trim is sold either as individual components or as pre-configured kits sized for common 27-inch layouts including 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 8x4 and 8x8 configurations. It works with TiLED Universal mounts, earlier-generation TiLED models, and TiLED Off-the-Wall systems with an adapter, and it also pairs with third-party and OEM mounts holding a videowall depth of 3 to 5.25 inches. That breadth means integrators can standardize on one trim solution across multiple mount generations and project types, reducing learning curves and variables on large, multi-site rollouts.
The launch lands at a moment when organizations are weighing whether to upgrade legacy signage to direct view LED — and industry best practices suggest that careful preparation matters as much as the hardware.
